He Will See You Through

Over the next couple of weeks, I hope to bring you along on some lessons from the kings that have stood out to me in my Bible reading this year. Notes taken from my readings, and put into these posts.

It seems to me that the kings of the Old Testament are always in a battle.

There is oftentimes an enemy approaching, wars raging, victories and defeat. There are highs and lows, mistakes and successes, but one thing remains the same, when we put our trust in God, He will be there. He may not be there in the way I want, but He will always take care of those who trust in Him.

Let’s look at two different kings today.

King David

1 Chronicles 15

When the Philistines heard David was anointed king, a battle began.

The anointing on your life will bring a battle. When a new thing begins to happen in your life, spiritual battles will come. If the enemy can get you to quit, or give up on the potential that you have, then the enemy has won. Don’t give up on your anointing and calling from the Lord!

Anyways, back to the battle, David inquires of God. David consults with the Lord before he does anything. When the situations shift, he goes to the Lord again. David was obedient to what the Lord instructed him to do. When David heard the sound, he was to go to battle. In verse 15 it tells us that “...God is gone forth before thee..”. When we put our trust in God and walk in obedience, He will go before us! There is a battle but the Lord has gone before!

I often pray, God, if you're not going before us, I don’t want to go. I don’t want to go where He is not leading. Can you hear the sound? It is time to go! Don’t worry about the enemy that you will face, the Lord has gone before.

King Abijah

2 Chronicles 13

As the king led the people of Judah they came into a battle. The scriptures say that the battle was before and behind, but they cried out to the Lord.  The children of Judah prevailed because they relied on the Lord!

When it feels like the battle is before you and behind you, no matter where you turn, it seems that you are surrounded. Let your cry be to the Lord, relying on Him, and He will see you through! You will find the rest you need in Jesus.

When we put our trust in Jesus, we will make it through the battle!

Every victory and perceived loss works for His purpose when your trust is in Him.

Don’t let every attack that comes detour you from what He has anointed you for. He has anointed you for your calling, for your ministry, for your walk. Trusting in Jesus doesn’t mean we won’t feel defeated at times, or that everything will go our way. It does mean that we can live a life of peace knowing, whatever happens in this battle, God will see me through. When you walk in obedience, remain in communication with the Lord, and trust in Him - He will see you through!
