Time Would Fail

While reflecting on this year, as I am sure a lot of us have done over the past several days, week, or maybe even a month (if you are a little ahead of the game), the thought that keeps going over in my mind, “time would fail me to tell”.

After this thought came to mind, I decided to read Hebrews 11 where the writer writes those same words. The writer didn’t have time to tell the testimonies of faith of more than were already mentioned in this section of writing.

With those words on my mind and beginning to read this chapter I wrote down my thoughts and hope it encourages you as you reflect, plan, and continue in your walk with God and strive to be who He called you to be.

All of the heroes of faith, as some call them, weren’t perfect. There were mess ups, sin, highlights, and downfalls in their lives. When mentioned in Hebrews 11, it doesn’t talk about all of their failures, it talks about their faith and endurance

They had heavenly desires, realized they were strangers on this earth, and endured hardships for a purpose beyond this earth.

As a testimony I hope that God and others can look at my life at the end of this year and say those words, “by faith”.

I wasn’t perfect, I struggled, but time would fail me to tell of all that Jesus did for me. I hope that I have ran my race well this year and continue to run well as the days go by.

The writer didn’t have time to tell of the acts of faith of different individuals.

It made me think even more, time would fail me to tell of all that Jesus has done for me.

Journal:

“Time would fail me to tell of all the things He has brought me through, of all the things I’ve gone through. Sometimes the testimony I have is I’m still standing. It wasn’t pretty. I wasn’t the one who had perfect faith, but I held onto what faith I did have with the little strength I had. There have been miracles large and small, but I’ve battled fear of the outcome. I’ve seen His protection and provision, but feared around the corner was our demise. I’ve had faith, but I’ve felt lacking. I’ve believed He was going to do the impossible, but feared that the day to day would fail. I’ve lacked understanding, but saw the good and bad of the outcome. I’ve struggled, but I’m here. Time wouldn’t allow me to tell it all. Only with You Jesus can I say, I’m still standing.”

“This year I have seen His supernatural protection and provision.  I’ve experienced a freedom and peace that I have strove for, believed others lived in, but in all of my striving and hoping, I’m not sure that I believed it could really happen for me. I’ve walked in that with Jesus through this season.”

You see, when I began to write this around a week or so ago, one of those “problems in life” that hit you out of nowhere - hit me. I was so focused on the problem that it seemed like I lost sight for just a moment of all of the blessings, favor, and Goodness of God.

Have you been there? It is so easy to lose sight of the good when you are right in the middle of a storm. For some the calendar year has changed, but you are still right in the middle of your trial.

I began to go over the past year, I went through my journal and I went through the many pictures I captured over this year. I began to write down all of the amazing things God did in our ministry and lives. With thankfulness I began to reflect on all of the big and small moments I could remember. It took some time, there were plenty of things I forgot and am sure I left out, but joy filled me and His peace surrounded me. Faith increased in me.

The enemy always wants us to believe that God has left us, forgotten us, or that life is just awful. If we aren’t careful we find ourselves right in the middle of a hard time thinking it will never get better.

Sometimes in a trial of life all the testimony we may have is, by the grace of God I’m still standing, that is all I have left. If we take a step back and look over our days, months, year, or even years - we can see that even in the midst of the storm that God was blessing, we had more good days than we focus on, He was with us, and has not forgotten us. Discouragement should not reign in our lives for we have a God who reigns above all! Set the discouragement aside for all of the plans that failed, trials that came, and hard days. Reflect and write down everything you experienced this year. Look back through photos, and write down what you see. There may be some pain, but look at what He has done!

Time would fail me to tell you today of all the things that God has done for me. I’m sure that you could say the same.

Let the words ring forth, by faith we endured.

My faith may have been shaking, but I am shaking myself today and saying, by faith!

My eyes are not on the things of this world, but eternity with my Savior!

I will run my race to the best of my ability.

I’m not going to focus on what didn’t go right, but everything He has blessed me with!

His mercy and grace He paid for me!

We serve a God that despite our failures, flaws, mistakes, and mishaps - loves us anyways. He chooses us despite it all. When we turn towards Him, trust in Him, diligently seek Him, and have faith there is no telling what He will do next. Look for Jesus in everything you do. One day, no matter what we endure on this earth, when we make it to Heaven with Him, it will be worth it all

Don’t focus on every failure and hardship of this year, look at the faith moments and continue to run your race with faith in the Almighty God! Keep your eyes on Heaven!

I hope you are encouraged today. There is something far greater than anything this world has to offer! By faith, we strive towards a heavenly place, and diligently seek the one true God, Jesus!

I encourage you to read over Hebrews 11 and be encouraged of what God will do this year through you!

If you do not know Jesus, haven’t started your relationship with Him, would like to make Heaven your eternal home or would like to do a Bible Study - reach out to me, I would love to talk with you.
