You Are Needed

Old Journal Entry:

When you are together with people, it doesn’t have to be filled with gossip, and talking about other people. I don’t want to hear about the failures of other ministers, or how bad they preached. Let’s uplift each other, stick up for each other, we are all just trying our best to live and work for God. Not one of us is without fault. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John… the gospels… they write many of the same stories, but they were all necessary and God used them all in writing His Word. They were all needed, doing the same thing, in different ways.

You have probably heard this before, but I want to remind you again today.

You are needed. You are needed in the Kingdom of God. You are needed just how God made you. God doesn’t call someone by mistake. If you are serving according to His will, He knew what He was doing when He chose you for the role that you are in. Whether you are serving on a platform or not, whether you are serving in your home as a stay at home mother or not, whether you are just starting out as a minister or have been doing this thing for thirty years, God chose YOU.

Don’t fall into the competitive trap, don’t fall into the comparison trap, and don’t fall into the trap of feeling inadequate. There will always be someone telling you your mistakes, but we serve the God of grace!

When you get around someone and they start gossiping, you don’t have to participate. The person that is being talked about may not appear to be qualified in your or others eyes, and your mistakes may not seem as big to you, but God called them. No one is perfect. If someone is willing to talk bad about someone to you, they will talk bad about you to someone else.

What do you feel like God is calling you to today?

Right now my husband and I are serving in the evangelistic field. I have heard people tell my husband many times, “I like that you don’t try to preach or be like anyone else”. It is one of the things I actually admire about my husband the most. He doesn’t try to be like anyone else, because he isn’t like anyone else. He is himself, take it or leave it. You see, he is serving a role that many others serve in, but he is serving the way God created him to serve in that role.

Just like the Gospels... God had different men write, doing the same thing in different ways, because they are all needed.

Just like the disciples...

Just like those that have gone before us...

Just like you and me.

Whatever you feel called to today, don’t belittle someone because you are trying to compete with them in life or ministry. You can serve in the same area as someone else and both do well. You can cheer them on. You don’t have to be like them either. You don't have to be hindered by others opinions. Follow God, and be yourself. You are needed!

So true! If we try to be like someone else we're only lying to ourselves. ❤️
