Kingdom Transition

Have you ever felt like God was calling you in a direction, toward a ministry possibly, but you had no idea how to actually make the transition happen? You had a burden for change, but didn’t know how to achieve the change you were burdened with.

Today I am going to share with you how my family handles Kingdom transition.

Let's look at Genesis chapter 13. Abraham and his family, along with Lot and his family are coming up out of Egypt back into the Canaan land. Abraham has the favor of God on his life so that Lot has been blessed and his substance multiplied just by being in association with Abraham. They both have such large herds and literally so many blessings from God that they can no longer stay together in such close proximity. The land cannot even sustain them both in the same area, so we see that a transition is needed.

That may seem so simple and fleshly, but sometimes when we experience Kingdom transition it isn’t the super spiritual moving from one heavenly realm to the next, but it is a simple physical transition. Oftentimes it seems, from my experience, a physical transition will lead you to a place where you can grow and flourish more than you could previously. This can then lead to the spiritual transition that we felt a burden for in the first place.

Let’s go back to Abraham. When the transition took place, he allowed Lot to choose which direction he wanted to go. Abraham knew the favor of God was on his life and he would be blessed regardless which direction he went. Of course, Lot chose the best land for himself, and Abraham got whatever was left over.

When we experience this physical transition oftentimes it will seem like we are transitioning into a wilderness or desert. Let me assure you, if the blessings and favor of God are on your life, do not worry about anything. If you have been sowing, you will reap, regardless of the circumstances you find yourself surrounded by.

The next thing we see after they are separated is Abraham receiving a word from the Lord with direction and promise. That is the spiritual transition, but he had to be separated and taken to a specific physical location before he could receive the Word of the Lord.

Let me show you one simple thing that allowed Abraham to experience transition in both physical and spiritual areas.

The very first thing he did upon returning from Egypt is he revisited an altar that he had made previously and called upon the name of the Lord. The very next scripture begins to tell us the problem with Lot and leads right into the physical transition, then as soon as the physical transition has taken place, leads directly into the spiritual transition. All started by revisiting an altar and calling on the name of the Lord.

My family has experienced this several times. We will feel a burden or call to something, but we do not know how to get there. When we feel this we know it is a call to prayer and fasting beyond our normal relationship with the Lord. We will begin to separate ourselves from everything and everyone and just like Abraham did from Lot. Once we can reach that place of separation and calling on God, then the transition will take place.

With us, when we begin really seeking after God, He will tell us when and where to separate ourselves. We must continue to seek God in the separation and the spiritual transition will come shortly.

The example that we see in scripture is a blueprint for us. The timing and exact details may vary in your life, but let me promise this to you.

When you feel that burden and need for Kingdom Transition, seek God with all of your strength and separate yourself from everything else and you will break out of the place you feel stuck in.

Be encouraged today! If you are in this place of transition draw near unto God and seek his face and He will transition your life so that the Kingdom of Heaven can move forward.
