Prestigious Places

Old Journal Entry:
It seems that in every direction I look, there is a confirmation surrounded by impossibilities.
Have you ever been there? It seems in our walk with God, we get to these places or situations where everything seems impossible.
With Mary and the virgin birth, it was no different. God working in an impossible way. When an angel appeared to Mary, the Bible says that she was troubled, but what was it that the angel said to her after this?
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:30-37
To birth the ministry of Jesus, the miraculous, God in the flesh - How did He do it? Through what seemed impossible, but with Him nothing is impossible.
God needed a pure vessel.
Before Mary could do it on her own in the flesh - God chose her. Before she was in a place to have a child - He chose her!
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Luke 1:41-43
God did not leave Mary alone, for He confirmed it through Elisabeth, who also was experiencing a miracle from impossibilities herself.
Now it is time for Mary to give birth to her miracle. Mary laid her miracle into a manger… Maybe it is just me but I do not imagine it to be a clean, sanitary place to lay a child.
Birthing the miraculous doesn’t happen in prestigious places.
Mary gave birth to the miraculous… and placed Him in a manger. A place where the animals get their food.
How would it have felt conceiving as a virgin, visited by angels, confirmed by Elisabeth, your espoused husband thinking of putting you away, confirmed to him, a hard journey as you are great with your miracle, just to find there was no room in the inn. It is time and you have nowhere to give birth. The miracle has been in the waiting and now it is here to come to pass. You have nowhere to go. You find yourself giving birth in undesirable circumstances laying your miracle in a manger.
Joseph, being warned of God, then took Mary and the baby by night and left for Egypt.
A miracle is born in low places… often times beaten down, then called up out of Egypt…
God is going to let your miracle be born in unlikely, undesirable circumstances, and then He will bring you out!
Why do we think that our miracle is going to happen on the mountain tops; whenever God robed himself in flesh and came in through the valley?
The road to your miracle isn’t easy, it was never meant to be.
We want our ministries, callings, and miracles to be birthed on platforms, stages, and prestigious places, but the truth is if you want your miracle or your ministry to be orchestrated by God it is going to be birthed through a pure vessel into undesirable circumstances.
It isn’t going to be in front of thousands, it is in lonely places after a hard journey.
Just like with Mary and Jesus, there just may be a Herod there trying to kill the miraculous.
God is going to do a work in you so that you may be pure. You will be pregnant with your miracle, ministry, calling, and then you will be taken on a journey. When it is time to give birth… undesirable. Then that ministry is going to have to grow. There will be a process, even after being birthed.
That is how Jesus did it.
As a Christian, I want to become more like Jesus. It may just be in those impossible situations, where we become most like Him.
Stay on the journey. Don’t look for the prestigious places, look for the places where Jesus is. After the birth takes place, let growth take place.
